The culmination of a lot of hard work and preparation – not just for me but so many talented artists in our own county of Hertfordshire. Last weekend I looked in on the work displayed in the old court house in the former Town Hall in St. Albans. Here’s a picture, and what a fantastic backdrop. Trials were held here from the 1830s to the 1960s. You knew you were “up before the Beak” all right, in that dock. But the history doesn’t overshadow the art. My favourites among this group were the geological landscapes of John Durham. And now it’s time for me to add my own modest efforts to this event. Friday night(and naturally, rain is forecast) we will put up a marquee where my finished works will hang. There will be some tea and biscuits on offer to my visitors and the chance to see me working the press. I hope it all works out, but I must say, even if I don’t see one person or sell a thing, the experience so far has been good fun.
